MARY, QUEEN OF FAMILIES
Prayer to the Blessed Virgin
By St Francis Of Assisi
Holy Virgin Mary, there is none like you among women born in the world. Daughter and handmaid of the heavenly Father, the almighty King, Mother of our most high Lord Jesus Christ, and Spouse of the Holy Spirit, pray for us to your most holy Son, our Lord and Master.
Hail holy Lady, most noble Queen, Mother of God, and Mary ever Virgin. You were chosen by the heavenly Father, who has been pleased to honor you with the presence of his most holy Son and the Divine Paraclete.
You were blessed with the fullness of grace and goodness. Hail, Temple of God, his dwelling place, his masterpiece, his handmaid. Hail, Mother of God, I venerate you for the holy virtues that — through the grace and light of the Holy Spirit — you bring into the hearts of your devoted ones to change them from unfaithful Christians to faithful children of God. Amen.
“I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the rosary.”
O Immaculata, Queen of heaven and earth, our life, our sweetness, and our hope, on this day we the (Family Surname) family come before you to consecrate ourselves to you as your possession and property. We praise God because he has brought us together to give ourselves to you our Mother. We do this because Jesus said on the Cross, “Behold your Mother.” We need you, Mother Mary, to help us to be a truly Catholic family. Enter into our family life. Repeat to us the words you spoke at Cana, “Do whatever He tells you.” Help us to overlook one another’s faults, to forgive as Jesus has forgiven us, and to love one another as Our Lord has asked us to love. Please use our family to crush the head of the serpent. Ask your Spouse, St. Joseph, Protector of the universal Church, to keep us one in mind and heart with your Son’s Vicar, Pope Francis. Today you have become the Queen of our hearts and home. May our home be a “City of the Immaculata,” where the Sacred Heart of Jesus reigns forever. Amen.

Prayer to ask Mary
to welcome you to Her Womb and to heal all wounds
Mary Immaculate, accept me today, consciously I want to express it and ask you to welcome me in your womb and every day I ask you to restore me, take from heaven all the graces and blessings that you asked for your Son Jesus. Mary, heal my wounds every day for 9 months.
When you were in your mother’s womb, as a baby you were exposed to everything she experienced. This includes the sounds in the environment, the air she breathed, the food she ate and the emotions she felt. When she was happy and calm, it allowed you to develop in a happy, calm environment. However, emotions like stress and anxiety negatively affect baby’s developing body and brain. Babies are able to remember certain things from the womb after they are born. Pray this short prayer for 9 months and ask Blessed Virgin Mary to welcome you to her womb and to heal all wounds.
Recite morning and evening, three Hail Marys in honour of the three great privileges bestowed upon Our Blessed Mother by the most Blessed Trinity with this invocation at the end: for the morning: “O my Mother preserve me from mortal sin during this day.” For the evening: “O my Mother preserve me from mortal sin during this night.” This practice was revealed to St. Melchtilde (13th century) while she was beseeching Our Blessed Mother to assist her in her hour of death. Our Lady appeared to her and said: “I will, certainly. But I also want you to say three special Hail Marys to me every day.
It begins twenty Saturdays preceding the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, 7th October. Our Lady Queen of Rosary blesses those who practice the 20 Saturdays Devotion with special favours, as evidenced by numerous testimonies…. This devotion spread all over the world mainly thanks to Bl. Bartola Longo (…)
Thirty Day Prayer To The Blessed Virgin Mary In Honour of the Sacred Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
By devoutly reciting this prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary for thirty days, we may mercifully hope to obtain our prayer intention. This prayer is recommended as a proper devotion for every day in Lent, and all the Fridays throughout the year.
This rosary or chaplet was revealed in 1929 and 1930, by Our Lord and His most holy Mother to Sister Amalia in Campina, Brazil, and was confirmed as supernatural by Bishop Campos Baretto. Our Lords words to Sister Amalia on November 8, 1929 were: “My daughter, whatever I am asked through the tears of My Mother, I shall give lovingly.” On March 8, 1930 the most Pure Mother stated: “Through this rosary the devil will be subdued and the power of Hell will be destroyed. Prepare yourself for this great combat.” Today the devil has much power because we have forgotten sin and no longer believe that Satan exists.
8th December “Hour Of Grace For The World” (12.00 – 1.00pm).
Many divine and bodily graces will be received through this devotion. Our Lady promised she will hear any prayer we make at this time. Our Lord, my Divine Son Jesus, will send His overflowing mercy if good people will pray continuously for their sinful brother…. it is my wish that the Hour Of Grace For The World be made known and spread throughout the world.
Mary, you are the vessel and tabernacle containing all Mysteries. You know what the patriarchs did not know; you experienced what was not revealed to the Angels; you heard what the prophets did not hear. In short, everything that was hidden from preceding generations was made known to you; even more, most of these wonders depended on you.
O most merciful God,
who for the salvation of sinners
and the refuge of the wretched,
has made the Immaculate Heart of Mary
most like in tenderness and pity
to the Heart of Jesus,
grant that we,
who now commemorate her most sweet and loving heart,
may by her merits and intercession,
ever live in the fellowship of the hearts
of both Mother and Son,
through the same Christ our Lord.
Your name, O Mother of God, is replete with all graces and Divine blessings. You have contained Him who cannot be contained, and nourished Him who nourishes all creatures. He who fills heaven and earth, and is the Lord of all, was pleased to be in need of you, for it was you who clothed Him with that flesh which He did not have before. (…)
Remember, O most compassionate Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your assistance, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we fly unto you, O Virgin of Virgins, our Mother; to you we come; before you we kneel sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions,
but in your clemency hear and answer them. Amen. (…)
Gracious and lovable art thou in thy splendor, O holy Mother of God!
Show me thy countenance. Let thy words sound in my ears, for thy voice is sweet and thy countenance is beautiful.
Turn to us in thy beauty and loveliness!
Come forth in majesty and reign! (…)
O Holy Mother of God, pray for the priests
your Son has chosen to serve the church.
Help them by your intercession,
to be holy, zealous and chaste.
Make them models of virtue
in the service of God’s people.
Help them to be prayerful in meditations,
effective in preaching,
and enthusiastic in the daily offering of
the holy sacrifice of the Mass.
Help them to administer the sacraments with joy.
Give us a heart as beautiful, pure, and spotless as yours. A heart like yours, so full of love and humility. May we be able to receive Jesus as the Bread of Life, to love Him as you loved Him, to serve Him under the mistreated face of the poor. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
O Mary, temple of the Trinity.
O Mary, bearer of fire.
O Mary, dispenser of mercy.
O Mary, restorer of human generation, because the world was repurchased by means of the sustenance that your flesh found in the Word, Christ repurchased the world with his Passion and you with your suffering. (…)
O, that the soul of Mary were in us to glorify the Lord!
That the spirit of Mary were in us to rejoice in God.
Virgin full of goodness,
Mother of mercy,
I entrust to you my body and my soul,
my thoughts and my actions,
my life and my death.
come to my aid
and deliver me from the snares of the devil.
Obtain for me the grace of loving
my Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
with a true and perfect love,
and after Him, O Mary,
of loving you with all my heart
and above all things.
O Mary, my Queen,
I cast myself in the arms of your mercy.
I place my soul and body
in your blessed care
and under your special protection
from this world.
I entrust to you all my hopes and consolations,
all my anguish and misery,
my life and the end of my life.
Through your most holy intercession
and through your merits,
grant that all my works may be directed and carried out
in accord with your will
and the will of your divine Son.
Virgin full of grace,
I know that at Nazareth you lived modestly,
without requesting anything more.
Neither ecstasies, nor miracles, nor other extra ordinary deeds
enhanced your life,
O Queen of the elect.
The number of the lowly, “the little ones,” is very great on earth.
They can raise their eyes to your without any fear.
You are the incomparable Mother
who walks with them along the common way to guide them to heaven.
Beloved Mother, in this harsh exile,
I want to live always with you
and follow you every day.
I am enraptured by the contemplation of you and I discover the depths of the love of your heart.
All my fears vanish under your motherly gaze, which teaches me to weep and to rejoice!
O Mary, Virgin most powerful and Mother of mercy, Queen of heaven and Refuge of sinners, we consecrate ourselves to your Immaculate Heart. We consecrate to you our very being and our whole life; all that we have, all that we love, all that we are. To you we give our bodies, our hearts and our souls; to you we give our homes, our families, our country. We desire that all that is in us and around us may belong to you, and may share in the benefits of your motherly benediction. (…)
My God, I offer You this Rosary for Your glory, so I can honor your Holy Mother, the Blessed Virgin, so I can share and meditate upon her suffering. I humbly beg you to give me true repentance for all my sins. Give me wisdom and humility, so that I may receive all the indulgences contained in this prayer. (…)
This litany to the Blessed Virgin Mary was composed during the Middle Ages. The place of honor it now holds in the life of the Church is due to its faithful use at the shrine of the Holy House at Loreto. Its titles and invocations set before us Mary’s exalted privileges, her holiness of life, her amiability and power, her motherly spirit and queenly majesty.
Mary, Our Lady of the Pillar,
we give you praise
because you opened the door of the human race,
to allow the coming of your son,
our Lord and Redeemer, Jesus Christ…
O Blessed Virgin Mary, who can worthily give you the just dues of praise and thanksgiving, you who by the wondrous assent of your will rescued a fallen world? What songs of praise can our weak human nature recite in your honor, since it is by your intervention alone that it has found the way to restoration?
O Mother of Jesus, and my Mother, let me dwell with you, cling to you and love you with ever-increasing love. I promise the honour, love and trust of a child. Give me a mother’s protection, for I need your watchful care. You know better than any other the thoughts and desires of the Sacred Heart….
Let us offer praise and thanksgiving to the most holy Trinity who has shown us the virgin Mary, clothed with the sun, the moon beneath her feet, and on her head a mystic crown of twelve stars, for ever and ever.
Let us praise and thank the divine father who elected her for his daughter. Amen. Our Father.
V. The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Mary, our Queen, Holy Mother of God, we beg you to hear our prayer. Make our hearts overflow with divine grace and resplendent with heavenly wisdom. Render them strong with your might and rich in virtue….
Holy Virgin Mary, there is none like you among women born in the world. Daughter and handmaid of the heavenly Father, the almighty King, Mother of our most high Lord Jesus Christ, and Spouse of the Holy Spirit, pray for us to your most holy Son, our Lord and Master….
O Mary, powerful Virgin, You are the mighty and glorious Protector of the Church. You are the Marvelous Help of Christians. You are Terrible as an Army set in Battle Array. You alone have destroyed every heresy in the entire Church. In the midst of my anguish, my struggles and my distress, Defend me from the power of the enemy, And at the hour of my death, Receive my soul into Paradise. Amen.
O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of God and Mother of Humanity, we believe with all the fervor of our faith in your triumphal Assumption both in body and in soul into heaven where you are acclaimed as Queen by all the choirs of angels and all the legions of saints; we unite with them to praise and bless the Lord who has exalted you above all other pure creatures and to offer you the tribute of our devotion and our love.
Mary Immaculate, accept me today, consciously I want to express it and ask you to welcome me in your womb and every day I ask you to restore me, take from heaven all the graces and blessings that you asked for your Son Jesus. Mary, heal my wounds every day for 9 months.
We fly to thy protection, O holy Mother of God.
Despise not our petitions in our necessities,
but deliver us always from all dangers
O glorious and blessed Virgin.
Hail, thou most sublime Queen of Peace, most holy Mother of God! By the Sacred Heart of Jesus, thy Son, the “Prince of Peace,” appease His anger and obtain that He may reign over us in peace.
At her Annunciation, Mary’s initial response to the presence and words of the angel was anxious fear. She could easily sympathize with the reaction of fear which overcame the two children at her sudden appearance on the Holy Mountain of La Salette. Her words, like those of the angel, were most welcome and reassuring.
Our Lady of Sorrows,
we end as we began nine days ago:
with Mary, weeping silently beside the cross.
weeping for the innocent child so violently taken,
weeping for the nation which has let him die,
weeping for her Child and for our,
we place them both in her arms.
Mary, Mother of the Living God, pray for us.
Mary, daughter of the Light Eternal, pray for us.
Mary, our light,pray for us.
Mary, our sister,pray for us.
Mary, flower of Jesse, pray for us.
Mary, issue of kings, pray for us.
Mary, chief work of God, pray for us.
Mary, the beloved of God, pray for us.
O great Mother of God and my Mother Mary, it is true that I am unworthy to name thee; but thou, who lovest me and desirest my salvation, must, notwithstanding the impurity of my tongue, grant that I may always invoke thy most holy and powerful name in my aid, for thy name is the succor of the living, and the salvation of the dying. Ah, most pure Mary, most sweet Mary, grant that henceforth thy name may be the breath of my life. O Lady, delay not to help me when I invoke thee, for in all the temptations which assail me, and in all my wants, I will never cease calling upon thee, and repeating again and again, Mary, Mary. Thus it is that I hope to act during my life, and more particularly at death, that after that last struggle I may eternally praise thy beloved name in heaven, O clement, O pious, O sweet Virgin Mary.
We Fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God. Despise not our petitions in our necessities, and deliver us from all dangers, O ever glorious and blessed Virgin!
O Mary, Queen of All Hearts, Advocate of the most hopeless cases; Mother most pure, most compassionate; Mother of Divine Love, full of divine light, we confide to your care the petitions which we humbly ask of you today.
Consider our misery, our tears, our interior trials and sufferings. We know that you can help us through the merits of your Divine Son, Jesus. We promise, if our prayers are heard, to spread your glory by making you known under the title of “Mary, Queen of All Hearts, Queen of the Universe.”
Grant, we beseech you, hear our prayers, for every day you give us so many proofs of your love and intercession to heal both body and soul. We hope against all hope; ask Jesus to cure us, pardon us, and grant us final perseverance.
O Most Holy Virgin! You were chosen by the Most Adorable Trinity from all eternity to be the most pure Mother of Jesus. O Tender Mother of the afflicted! Grant me under my present necessities that special protection You have promised to those who devoutly commemorate this ineffable joy. Relying on the infinite mercies of your Divine Son, trusting in the promise which He has made that those who ask should receive, and penetrated with confidence in your powerful prayers, I most humbly entreat you intercede for me. I beg you to obtain for me the favours which I petition for in this novena, if it be the Holy Will of God to grant them; to ask for me whatever graces I most stand in need of.
O Mary Immaculate Queen, look down upon this distressed and suffering world. Thou knowest our misery and our weakness. O thou who art our Mother, saving us in the hour of peril, have compassion on us in these days of great and heavy trial.
Jesus has confided to thee the treasure of His grace, and through thee He wills to grant us pardon and mercy. In these hours of anguish, therefore, thy children come to Thee as their hope.
We recognize thy Queenship and ardently desire thy triumph. We need a Mother and a Mother’s Heart. Thou art for us the luminous dawn which dissipates our darkness and points out the way to life. In thy clemency obtain for us the courage and the confidence of which we have such need.
Most Holy and Adorable Trinity, Thou Who didst crown with glory in Heaven the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Savior, grant that all her children on earth may acknowledge her as their Sovereign Queen, that all hearts, homes, and nations may recognize her rights as Mother and as Queen. Amen.
Mary Immaculate Queen, triumph and reign!
Mary, Queen Assumed into Heaven, I rejoice that after years of heroic martyrdom on earth, you have at last been taken to the throne prepared for you in heaven by the Holy Trinity.
Lift my heart with you in the glory of your Assumption above the dreadful touch of sin and impurity. Teach me how small earth becomes when viewed from heaven. Make me realize that death is the triumphant gate through which I shall pass to your Son, and that someday my body shall rejoin my soul in the unending bliss of heaven.
From this earth, over which I tread as a pilgrim, I look to you for help. I ask for this favor: (Mention your request).
When my hour of death has come, lead me safely to the presence of Jesus to enjoy the vision of my God for all eternity together with you. I ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my mother;to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, I Consecrate my entire self to the Most Holy Love of Your Two Hearts. I Wish to make reparation for all the sins of the world, including my own. (…)
O heavenly treasurer of all graces, Mother of God and my mother Mary, since you are the first-born daughter of the Eternal Father and hold in your hands his omnipotence, be moved to pity my soul and grant me the graces which I fervently ask of you.

The Apostle of the Rosary! “If you are looking for salvation, propagate the Rosary. It is Mary’s promise: whoever propagates the Rosary will be saved.” The Novena consists of 15 decades of the Rosary each day for twenty-seven days in petition; then immediately 15 decades each day for twenty-seven days in thanksgiving, whether or not the request has been granted. This is a 54 days novena.
Oh Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke your powerful name, the protection of the living and the salvation of the dying. Purest Mary, let your name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, Blessed Lady, to rescue me whenever I call on you. In my temptations, in my needs, I will never cease to call on you, ever repeating your sacred name, Mary, Mary. What a consolation, what sweetness, what confidence fills my soul when I utter your sacred name or even only think of you! I thank the Lord for having given you so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name. But I will not be content with merely uttering your name. Let my love for you prompt me ever to hail you Mother of Perpetual Help. Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for me and grant me the favor I confidently ask of you.
O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear my prayer. As your child, I implore your intercession
with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions I place before you today, especially…
Our Lady of Fatima Promises all the Graces Necessary for Heaven if a Catholic Finishes the Five First Saturdays Devotion.
To gain an indulgence attached to a prayer, it is sufficient to recite the prayer alternately with a companion or to follow it mentally while it is being recited by another. The faithful also can gain a plenary indulgence each day of the year, however no one can gain more than one plenary indulgence in the course of a single day: (1) Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for at least one half an hour (2) Devout reading of the Sacred Scriptures for at least one half an hour (3) The pious exercise of the Way of the Cross (4) The recitation of the Marian Rosary in a church or public oratory or in a family group, a religious Community or pious Association.
Taking that sweet Ave, which from Gabriel came, peace confirm within us, changing Eve’s name.
The Magnificat, taken from Luke’s Gospel (1:46-55), is the Blessed Virgin Mary’s hymn of praise to the Lord. It is also known as the Canticle of Mary in the Liturgy of the Hours, a special collection of scripture readings, psalms, and hymns that constitute what is known as the prayer of the church.
Mother, help our faith! Open our ears to hear God’s word and to recognise his voice and call. Awaken in us a desire to follow in his footsteps, to go forth from our own land and to receive his promise. Help us to be touched by his love, that we may touch him in faith. Help us to entrust ourselves fully to him and to believe in his love, especially at times of trial, beneath the shadow of the cross, when our faith is called to mature. Sow in our faith the joy of the Risen One. Remind us that those who believe are never alone. Teach us to see all things with the eyes of Jesus, that he may be light for our path. And may this light of faith always increase in us, until the dawn of that undying day which is Christ himself, your Son, our Lord!
Most Holy Virgin, who has deigned to come to Fatima to reveal to the three little shepherds the treasures of graces hidden in the recitation of the Rosary, inspire our hearts with a sincere love of this devotion, so that by meditating on the mysteries of our redemption that are recalled in it, we may gather the fruits and obtain the conversion of sinners, the conversion of Russia, and this favor that I so earnestly seek (State your request here ) which I ask of you in this novena, for the greater glory of God, for your own honor, and for the good of all people. Amen.
Recite the following prayers… 3 x Our Father… 3 x Hail Mary’s… 3 x Glory Be…
Daily Prayer for the conversion of a person whom salvation is at risk with Mary – Helper of Mankind.
The Community “with Mary – helper of Mankind” originated as a response to the desires of the heart of Jesus and Mary, and is immersed in the Church’s mission, “to save”. A spiritual Community of people dedicated to Mary, who daily pray for the conversion of people. Each Member of the community is praying for the salvation of a person chosen by God. Don’t get discouraged when one day you forget about the prayer.
The Blessed Virgin Mary promised to Saint Dominic and to all who follow that “Whatever you ask in the Rosary will be granted.” She left for all Christians Fifteen Promises to those who recite the Holy Rosary. Imparted to Saint Dominic and Blessed Alan.
This Annunciation Novena, more commonly referred to as the “Novena for Impossible Requests,” begins on the Feast of the Annunciation March 25th and ends nine months later, on Christmas Day December 25th.
The Franciscan Crown, also called the Rosary of the Seven Joys of the Blessed Virgin, dates back to the year 1422. The story is told of a pious young man who had been admitted to the Franciscan Order in that year. Prior to his joining the Order, it had been his custom to adorn a statue of the Blessed Virgin with a wreath of fresh and beautiful flowers, as a mark of his devotion to Mary. Being unable to continue this practice once he was in the Order, he became dejected and eventually decided to leave the Order and return to the world.
Be blessed, O most pure Virgin, for having vouchsafed to manifest your shining with life, sweetness and beauty, in the Grotto of Lourdes, saying to the child, St. Bernadette: ‘I am the Immaculate Conception. ‘ A thousand times we congratulate you upon your Immaculate Conception. And now, O ever Immaculate Virgin, Mother of mercy, Health of the sick, Refuge of sinners, Comforter of the afflicted, you know our wants, our troubles, our sufferings deign to cast upon us a look of mercy.
The Church fully approved message of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary which was given to Elizabeth Kindelmann of Budapest, Hungary from 1961 to 1982 from Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother. The Blessed Virgin has proclaimed that while these prayers are recited, “no dying soul in that neighbourhood will be damned” and that her Flame of Love will extend even to the poor souls in Purgatory and their families. (Virgo Incoronata, 2003) With this prayer, you will blind Satan.
What are these knots? There are the problems and struggles we face for which we do not see any solution … knots of discord in your family, lack of understanding between parents and children, disrespect, violence, the knots of deep hurts between husband and wife, the absence of peace and joy at home. There are also the knots of anguish and despair of separated couples, the dissolution of the family, the knots of a drug addict son or daughter, sick or separated from home or God, knots of alcoholism, the practice of abortion, depression, unemployment, fear, solitude…Ah, the knots of our life! How they suffocate the soul, beat us down and betray the heart’s joy and separate us from God. Day after day, more and more Christians kneel to pray to Her. Many families have become reconciled! Many diseases have been healed! Many spouses have returned to the Church! Many jobs have been given! Many conversions have taken place! Many Catholics have been on their knees praying and giving thanks for graces received from our sweet Mother. For that reason, Mary Who undoes the knots, Who was chosen by God to crush the evil with Her feet, comes to us to reveal Herself. She comes to provide jobs, good health, to reconcile families, because She wants to undo the knots of our sins which dominate our lives, so that – as sons of the King – we can receive the promises reserved for us from eternity. She comes with promises of victory, peace, blessings and reconciliation.
I am knocking at the door of your heart because I want you to open it to me. Do you realize that it is with my own hands that I am bringing you this book as a gift? I am offering it to you with a mother’s care so that you, in your turn, upon reading it, will learn to live the way of Heaven and no longer that of earth.
O Mary, Virgin most powerful and Mother of Mercy, Queen of Heaven and Refuge of Sinners, we consecrate ourselves to thy Immaculate Heart. We consecrate to thee our very being and our whole life: all that we have, all that we love, all that we are.
Those who wear the Brown Scapular: “I, the Mother of Grace, shall descend on the Saturday after their death and whomsoever I shall find in Purgatory, I shall free, so that I may lead them to the holy mountain of life everlasting.”
The Milk Grotto is considered sacred because the Holy Family took refuge there before their flight into Egypt to escape King Herod’s slaughter of the innocent firstborns. It is said that while Mary was nursing Jesus, a drop of milk fell to the ground, turning the cave white. Stories abound from the Grotto in the Holy Land, and the shrine in St. Augustine, about children born to parents who had struggled for years to conceive or had been told there was no hope.
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end.” And Mary said to the angel, “How shall this be, since I have no husband?” And the angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, your kinswoman Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.” And Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
Oh, most beautiful flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven. Oh, Blessed Mother of the Son of God; Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. Oh, Star of the Sea, help me and show me you are my Mother. Oh, Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succor me in my necessity (mention your request here). There are none that can withstand your power.
